The prestigious Northwest Wine Summit is one of the first competition events of the year and attracts the largest number of participants in the Pacific Northwest. Entries into the summit must be wines that come from Alaska, British Columbia, Idaho, Montana, Oregon or Washington and they must be or have been commercially available within two years.
The sixteen judges at the Northwest Wine Summit 2004 selected Westham Island Estate Blueberry Dessert Wine for the silver medal in the Dessert Wine Category, and our Blueberry Wine for a bronze medal in the Non-Grape Wine Category.
The annual summit recognizes excellence, consistency in the wines that it judges, and is well respected within the wine making industry. Our wines also took three medals at the Northwest Wine Summit 2003; earning both the silver medal for our Strawberry Dessert Wine and the bronze medal for our Cassis Dessert Wine in the Dessert Wine Category. We were also awarded the bronze medal for the Non-Fruit Wine Category for our Blueberry Table Wine.
At the 2006 All Canadian Wine Championships Westham Island Winery was awarded Double Gold (Best of the Best in Category) for our Cranberry Wine, 2005 CRANBERRY $12.95. It was chosen best out of 19 Dry Fruit wines entered from across Canada. Out of 51 Off Dry wines entered across Canada the Blackberry Wine took a Bronze.
The elegant Westham Island Tayberry Wine was awarded a bronze medal at the 2005 competition.
